About

Devburner is my personal technology and productivity weblog. My name is Chris Smith and I am the IT Manager for an aerospace company, technologist, writer, and husband. I program in C#, Ruby, JavaScript and use CSS, HTML, and XML. I administrate Windows and Linux servers. I enjoy using Macs and iDevices. Not to mention I am a GTD and OmniFocus geek. My wife and I live in Meadville, Pennsylvania (it’s close to Erie, PA for all of you out of the know).

You will find a bunch of tips and tricks, stories, successes, and failures as they happen in my journey in the IT and business realms. Also, you can expect articles about productivity, some of the software that is available to give you a hand, as well as commentary on the technology industry.

Setup

I personally enjoy Apple products and have a sort of affirmation bias towards them, although I use a PC in work environments that runs Windows 7. I use the New iPad, white iPhone 4S, 13″ MacBook Pro (mid-2009), a custom Windows 7 Ultimate box, and custom built box at home that runs OS X a 2011 Mac Mini. You can see more of the tools that I am using in 2012 here.
